Red Rock Developments Breaks Ground On 1.04 Million SF ‘Project Midas’

July 21, 2015

Red Rock Developments has broken ground on a 1.04 million-square-foot distribution facility at its Shugart Farms Lake Park Industrial development with joint venture partner, Saben, LLC.

The project, code named “Project Midas,” marks the initial facility in Phase I at Shugart Farms Lake Park Industrial, a master-planned development encompassing more than 2,500 acres. This fast-tracked warehouse project is being developed for DCT Industrial Trust (NYSE: DCT) for an undisclosed tenant.

“Red Rock Developments is an extremely professional and capable developer,” said Lisa Ward, senior vice president and Atlanta market leader with DCT. “They have delivered on every aspect of the project to date and have been very easy to work with. We look forward to working with them through the completion of this project and, hopefully, several more.”

Red Rock was selected over competitors due to their ability to deliver the project in less than 10 months. Red Rock’s speed to market, pre-construction due diligence and preliminary planning/permitting all helped set the team apart from the competition.

“We are very excited to be working with DCT, a leader in the commercial industrial real estate arena,” said William C. “Bill” Smith Jr., Red Rock’s CEO. “We are looking forward to providing them with a state-of-the-art facility that meets all their needs within their required time frame.”

Based in Columbia, S.C., Red Rock Developments focuses on single-tenant, net lease, build-to-suit developments. Its diverse team of real estate, construction, financial, industrial and economic development experts has delivered projects for clients across the nation.
