Meet the Team: Crocker Barker

September 22, 2023

This week, for our employee spotlight, we are going to feature the newest member of the Red Rock team, Crocker Barker! Crocker was born and raised in Shelby, North Carolina, and now lives in Charlotte. Crocker is the sibling of Jack and Kruesi Barker and the son of Rowena and John Barker. He attended Stuart W. Cramer High School and received his BS in Business Management from Clemson University! While attending Clemson, Crocker was an active Clemson University Guide Association and Student Government member and served on the executive council for several clubs like Clemson Students Against Alzheimer’s and Club Tennis. Crocker was also a brother of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity at Clemson. After graduating in May of 2021, Crocker spent a year and a half working seasonal jobs in the outdoor industry. He spent a summer in North Carolina working as a counselor at Falling Creek Camp, moved out west to Aspen to work at a local ski shop for the winter, and even spent time in British Columbia, Canada, taking middle schoolers camping while participating in activities like sailing, rock climbing, and rafting. After living in the woods for nearly 500 days, Crocker returned to Charlotte to join the team! Crocker was brought on to Red Rock as a leasing associate, learning the ropes of the industry every day from Leah Bailey and the team. Crocker has become very flexible at Red Rock, understanding and taking on tasks in the company’s utilities, property management, leasing, and marketing areas. Crocker comes from a long line of family tradition in Industrial Real Estate, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, John Barker Sr., aunt, Leah Bailey, and father, John Barker Jr. When asked about his favorite aspects of his work, Crocker stated that the best part of his job is traveling to different markets to meet new people in the industry. With a passion for travel, he is eager to check out any market and whether we have a project active in that market. The people in this industry have encouraged Crocker to feel like he is in the correct work environment more than anything else. Whether shaking hands at broker events or taking new connections out for lunch, Crocker has thoroughly enjoyed picking the brains of many knowledgeable characters in our industry. Outside of work, Crocker can be found spending his weekends cheering on the Clemson Tigers in Death Valley or flying down Sugar Mountain on skis, depending on the season.

Crocker is eager to grow his early knowledge of Real Estate as his career is just starting. We appreciate his drive and desire to succeed in his role at Red Rock every day. Crocker would like to thank his team at Red Rock, as everyone has been very welcoming and has helped show him the ropes of how the company operates efficiently. Welcome the newest member of the Red Rock team, Crocker Barker.
