This facility for FG Wilson, now Caterpillar, accommodates a full-service diesel generator assembly plant. The main plant area features 415,000 square feet of manufacturing and assembly area with 40-foot ceiling heights. The structural components of the plant area include a 25-ton crane rail system and an eight-inch thick reinforced concrete floor. As part of the facility, a two-story, 40,000-square-foot office building was constructed adjacent to the plant. The office was upfitted to Class A corporate building standards.
Communication is a vital component of any project, and the greatest challenge pertaining to this project was coordination with the owner’s representatives in Ireland. Despite the distance and the difference in time zones, the efficient and organized team was able to meet that communications challenge head-on bringing the project to a successful completion.
